Bursaries (including Emergency Fee Assistance), on a sliding scale, are awarded to pupils who we believe will gain most from a Sarum Hall education, and who will contribute fully to the life of the school. Parents interested in applying for means-tested financial assistance are recommended to download and read the School’s Bursary Policy.
The provision of all financial assistance is at the sole discretion of the School and is subject to the means-testing rigour expected of independent schools by the Charity Commission. Both parents/guardians will be required to provide proof of their income and assets. The level of support varies according to a range of circumstances including assessed parental need and also to the level of funding available.
Entry to Nursery
Please note that financial assistance is only available for entry to Nursery in very exceptional circumstances, and the deadline for any such applications will be 31st March for September entry in the following year.
Entry to Reception – Year 6
If you wish to apply for bursary funding for entry into Reception – Year 6, the Bursary Application Form (available from the Bursar) should be fully completed and submitted directly to the Bursar together with all requested and applicable supplementary documentation. This is required in advance of your appointment with the Headmistress for entry the following September. At the same time a Registration Form should be completed on the website and associated fee should be submitted, if one has not already been submitted. Please note that we cannot consider Bursary applications for children for whom Registration Forms for a place at the school have not been received. You should also check with the Admissions Secretary whether there are places available in your child’s proposed year group prior to submitting a Registration Form.
Note that the registration fee will be refunded for unsuccessful bursary applicants who do not join the School.
Bursary applications will be considered on the basis of the information provided and the analysis of this will include a home visit from the school’s appointed representatives. Following receipt of their report, recommendations will be made to the Governing Body and decisions will be communicated by letter from the Bursar at the same time that academic places are awarded.
Once a bursary award has been made, it will be subject to an annual review.
